NAVY FEDERAL —ENDURING STRENGTH 9
STRENGTH OF SERVICE
Our members know they can
rely on us to provide the
products and services that
are straightforward and attractively
priced. Even as the country continued
with a struggling economy, we provided
deeply discounted auto loan rates,
attractive mortgage incentives, and
our lowest-rate-ever credit card
balance transfer offer.
We slashed auto loan rates to
1.79% APR knowing that, for many
of our young members, purchasing a
car is high on their list of priorities.
In addition, active duty and retired
military members could enjoy an
additional ¼% rate discount. We
helped take the uncertainty out of the
auto-buying process with the launch of
a new online buying service. Members
who had nanced their cars elsewhere
were invited to renance with us and
receive a $100 Visa Prepaid Loyalty
gi card.
Just in time for the spring home-
buying season and with mortgage
rates at historic lows, we introduced
our First-Time Homebuyer Plus
package. Members were able to take
advantage of a waived application fee,
no-down-payment requirement, and
receive a $250 Visa Prepaid Loyalty
gi card at closing. Combined with
our mortgage rate match offer, rst-
time buyers could be condent that
they could nd the home of their
dreams and have an affordable
monthly payment. We also paid up
to $2,500 in closing costs for members
buying or renancing a mortgage loan
with us.
Our competitive offers extended to
credit cards as well: the 0% balance
transfer offer with no balance transfer
fee spurred tens of thousands of
members to escape the burden of
high interest rates charged elsewhere.
Being united in service with our
members annually takes us to a
higher level—beyond money-saving
offers and promotions. We continue to
provide special products and services
designed to meet the unique needs of
our military members. Advice and tools
are always available at Navy Federal
Online, and our subsidiary, Navy Federal
Financial Group, hosts free nancial
seminars at our branches across the
country. Even our employees remain
engaged in local communities through
volunteer opportunities with Relay
for Life, Rebuilding Together, and
mentoring in local schools. Navy Federal
also contributes to the Navy-Marine
Corps Relief Society, Air Force
Aid Society, and the Army Home-
front Fund.
