1 Management basis includes the results of the Group’s joint ventures, Vodafone Italy, Vodafone Hutchison Australia, Vodafone Fiji and Indus Towers, on a proportionate basis, including a ve month contribution from Verizon
Wireless. The statutory basis includes the results of these joint ventures, using the equity accounting basis rather than on a proportionate consolidation basis, and includes a ve month contribution from Verizon Wireless
which is treated as discontinued operations.
2 The Group’s measure of segment prot, EBITDA, excludes depreciation, amortisation and loss on disposal of xed assets and the Group’s share of results in associates and joint ventures. EBITDA and adjusted operating prot
have been restated to exclude restructuring costs.
3 Discontinued operations comprise our US Group whose principal asset was a 45% interest in Verizon Wireless. We sold our US Group on 21 February 2014. Refer to note 7 “Discontinued operations” for further details.
4 Presentation adjustments relate to the restatement of the Group’s joint ventures from a proportionate consolidation basis to an equity accounted basis. Discontinued items relate to the results of Verizon Wireless.
