NOTE 25. SEGMENT INFORMATION (Continued)
Ford South America segment includes primarily the sale of Ford-brand vehicles and related service parts in South
America.
Ford Europe segment includes primarily the sale of Ford-brand vehicles and related service parts in Europe, Turkey,
and Russia.
The PAG segment includes primarily the sale of PAG-brand vehicles (i.e., Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover) and related
service parts throughout the world (including North America, South America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa).
Ford Asia Pacific and Africa/Mazda segment includes primarily the sale of Ford-brand vehicles and related service
parts in the Asia Pacific region and South Africa and also includes our share of the results of Mazda, of which we owned
33.4% at December 31, 2007, and certain of our Mazda-related investments.
The Other Automotive component of the Automotive sector consists primarily of centrally managed net interest
expense, which is not managed individually by the five segments.
Transactions among Automotive segments are presented generally on a "where-sold," absolute cost basis, eliminating
the effect of legal entity transfer prices within the Automotive sector for vehicles, components and product engineering.
Financial Services Sector
The Financial Services sector includes the following segments: Ford Credit and Other Financial Services. Ford Credit
provides vehicle-related financing, leasing, and insurance. Other Financial Services includes a variety of business
including holding companies, real-estate, and the financing and leasing of Volvo vehicles. The Hertz segment was sold in
December 2005.
