Better Value for Consumers
For starters, they benefi t from our best-in-class
approach to generic drug substitution – in our
stores and through the mail. Currently, for more
than 6 million plan participants, special CVS
ExtraCare® Health Cards offer signifi cant in-store
discounts on CVS brand products eligible for
reimbursement from Flexible Spending Accounts.
Our CVS/pharmacy® Health Savings Pass is
another new offering. For just $10 annually,
consumers can fi ll a 90-day prescription for any
of more than 400 common generic mainte-
nance medications for just $9.99 at their local
CVS/pharmacy store. Of course, CVS/pharmacy
shoppers are accustomed to the many ways
we help them spend less. The popular ExtraCare
loyalty program helped cardholders save approxi-
mately $2 billion in 2008. And our private-label
products provide the exceptional quality consumers
expect from national brands, but at a more
affordable price.
