The Company leases approximately 1.1 million square feet of office space and owns a 204,000 square foot office
building in Seattle, Washington for corporate administrative purposes.
As of September 30, 2007, Starbucks had more than 8,500 Company-operated retail stores. The Company also
leases space in approximately 160 additional locations for regional, district and other administrative offices,
training facilities and storage, not including certain seasonal retail storage locations. The Company is constructing a
new, owned, 150,000 square foot roasting and distribution plant in St. Matthews, South Carolina. Operations are
planned to begin in early 2009.

Animation SKG, Inc.
