On behalf of your Board of Directors, I am pleased to report that McDonald’s continues to make strong progress
under the leadership of our outstanding management team, headed by Jim Skinner, Vice Chairman and CEO.
As we review McDonald’s progress against the Plan to Win, we continue to be impressed by the talent, experi-
ence and passion for the business demonstrated by Jim and his entire senior management team. You can be
assured that your management is focused on enhancing the restaurant experience for McDonald’s customers
around the world.
We believe that McDonald’s management continues to have the proper strategies in
place, and the top-quality people in position to execute those strategies globally. We have
every confidence that because of this, McDonald’s is poised to rise to even greater heights.
As Board members, we take our responsibility for management oversight and good
corporate governance very seriously. We believe that good corporate governance is critical
to fulfilling our oversight obligation to you.
Our directors are a diverse, independent-minded and experienced group of individuals
who bring a variety of perspectives to the board room. We remain united, however, in our determination to represent
you, our shareholders. In that very important role, I can assure you that enhancing shareholder value is a major goal
of McDonald’s, today and tomorrow.
