as our independent registered public accounting firm for the current fiscal year. The Board of Directors recommends
that you vote FOR the election of the director nominees, FOR the amendment and restatement of our 2004 Equity
Incentive Plan, FOR the adoption of our 2008 Employee Stock Purchase Plan, FOR approval of the material terms
of the amended and restated Symantec Senior Executive Incentive Plan and FOR the ratification of the selection of
KPMG LLP as our independent registered public accounting firm for the current fiscal year. Please refer to the
proxy statement for detailed information on each of the proposals and the annual meeting.
We are also pleased to take advantage of the new Securities and Exchange Commission rules allowing issuers
to furnish proxy materials over the Internet. We believe the new rules will allow us to provide our stockholders with
