At December 31, 2007 and 2006, pension benefit plan assets of $127 million and $149 million, respectively, and
retiree medical and other benefit plan assets of $220 million and $200 million, respectively, were invested in
shares of mutual funds managed by a subsidiary of AMR.

benefit cost over the next fiscal year are $22 million and $13 million, respectively.
