Today’s consumers are managing the complexities of
sweeping health care reforms in a difficult economy.
Kamilah Fields, Nurse Practitioner at
the Take Care Clinic inside Walgreens in
Westmont, New Jersey, provides treatment
for respiratory illnesses, minor injuries
and skin conditions, allergies and other
illnesses, and services including vaccines,
physicals and health evaluations. This year,
the screening and diagnosis of high blood
pressure was included within Take Care
Clinic’s expanding scope of services.
My Walgreens
for Patients to Get Well,
Stay Well and Live Well
With a team of 70,000 health care service providers, Walgreens provides
customers and patients the support that helps them live a “well” life.
The Company’s 26,000 pharmacists at more than 7,500 stores across
the country are uniquely positioned to serve as true community health
care resources located within five miles of nearly 75 percent of all
Americans. Patients rely on their Walgreens pharmacist to help them
make informed decisions about their pharmacy, health and wellness
needs and ensure they receive their medication and immunizations in
a convenient and caring environment.
At the same time, Walgreens is transforming and enhancing the role of
community pharmacy. The Company has the largest retail network of
pharmacists certified to provide immunizations. During the critical fall
2009 flu season, our pharmacists and Take Care nurse practitioners
and physician assistants provided 5.4 million seasonal flu shots more
than four times the previous year and another 2 million H1N1 shots.
Walgreens has under way an even larger immunization program for
the 2010-11 flu season.
Through immunization programs, screenings, support for chronic care
patients and expanded specialty pharmacy services, the Company is
expanding the role of pharmacists to provide quality, accessible care.
Studies show that in-person interaction with a pharmacist reduces
health care costs through fewer complications and hospitalizations.
In addition to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the Company’s
unparalleled network of trusted health care advisors includes nurse
practitioners, physician assistants, home care nurses,
physicians and others all on the front lines of health
care, providing information, solutions and support for
tens of millions of patients a year.

Julie Dinh, Pharmacy Technician in Plano,
Texas, assists patient Franklin Kirk with a
question about vitamins. “My role is to help
patients as much as I can, whether that means
helping to fill prescriptions, answering questions
or alerting a pharmacist to a patient who
needs counseling on a new prescription.”
Julie is one of 37,000 Walgreens pharmacy
technicians who help make each day a little
easier for their patients.
