At December 31, 2006 and 2005, pension benefit plan assets of $149 million and $48 million, respectively, and
other benefit plan assets of $200 million and $159 million, respectively, were invested in shares of mutual funds
managed by a subsidiary of AMR.

The estimated net loss and prior service cost for the defined benefit pension plans that will be amortized from
accumulated other comprehensive income into net periodic benefit cost over the next fiscal year are $25 million
and $16 million, respectively. The estimated net gain and prior service credit for the other postretirement plans
that will be amortized from accumulated other comprehensive income into net periodic benefit cost over the next
fiscal year are $7 million and $13 million, respectively.
