Fostering a more customer-oriented, entrepreneurial
and responsive culture is one of the goals of the Schneider 2000+
program. To create more value for shareholders, customers,
employees and the community, Schneider Electric is radically
transforming the way it thinks and works.
Innovating faster:
a competitive strength
Schneider Electric has conducted an in-depth
review of ways to improve its development
processes.T his has led to a structured approach
called the Product Development Process,
which is now used throughout Schneider
Electric for all new projects. Its implementation
halved the development times for product
families launched in 1999, including Harmony
pushbuttons (which upgrades one of Schneider
Electrics core offerings), Masterpact circuit
breakers and TeSys motor starters.

One of the products developed using
the Product Development Process is Blokset,
a new global range of low voltage
panelboards. Designed for international
customers by a multicultural team from Brazil,
Indonesia, Colombia and France, Blokset
was developed twice as fast with 30%
lower production costs.
