Poland
The Kozienice coal power station
Poland, a candidate to become a member
of the European Union, needs to bring its quality
and safety standards up to the level of EU member
countries.T he country has implemented
numerous programs to upgrade these standards.
Schneider Electric was selected to participate in
the renovation of the coal power station in Kozienice.
With a capacity of 2,600 MW, Kozienice
is the second largest power station in Poland
and one of the largest in Europe.
T he terms of the contract signed with Schneider
Electric in 1999 included the supply of 23 LF1-type
circuit breakers and a variety of low-voltage equipment
such as Masterpact, Compact NS and Merlin Gerin
contactors for low voltage switchboards.
T his new business is an addition to numerous services
previously provided by Schneider Electric for
the power station, whose medium-voltage
switchboards for 200 MW and 500 MW modules
have been equipped with Merlin Gerin
circuit breakers since 1971.
According to the rate of modernization of medium-
voltage switchboards, Schneider Electric also expects
to supply 16 LF2 circuit breakers during 2000.
United States
McDonald’s
Schneider Electric supplies specially designed
low voltage electrical equipment for McDonalds
restaurants around the world. Designed to comply
with either NEMA or IEC standards, depending
on specific country needs, these new products take
up less floor space, offer improved safety
and performance, and help McDonalds streamline
the design of its restaurants. An international
account management team based in the United
States provides well coordinated service.

de l'Atlantique shipyards in June 1999, has a
12,000-passenger capacity.T his 216-meter long ship
is equipped with four 5,650-kW/h diesel engines
which supply all of the electric power onboard.
Schneider Electric supplied the ships
electrical distribution products and switchgear.
T he supply includes two Merlin Gerin Masterbloc
MB300 low voltage electrical distribution switch-
boards, Merlin Gerin Masterpact and Compact NS
circuit breakers, together with Telemecanique
industrial control products such as AK3 multifeeder
busbar trunking systems for motor starter units.
