Schneider Electric’s core businesses
Ever smarter industrial
automation systems
Intelligence—in the form of processing
and communication capabilities—is rapidly spreading
downward to the basic components of industrial
systems. Two examples of this trend in Schneider
Electric products are the Altivar 28 range of speed
controllers and the Telemecanique Zelio smart
relay, both launched in 1999.With its Transparent
FactoryT M concept, Schneider Electric
is establishing itself as the leader in Web Automation.
T his solution, which integrates components in open
architectures based on Ethernet and Internet
protocols, allows users and systems integrators
to leverage new information technologies to lower
system installation and operating costs.
Square D/Telemecanique Harmony
This new range of control and signaling units comprises
a wide variety of pushbuttons, emergency stop switches,
dial knobs and indicator lights for human-machine interface.
Ergonomic, rugged, safe, compact and quick and easy
to install, Harmony meets the needs of customers and users
in the industrial, para-industrial and commercial sectors.
Harmony also incorporates Schneider Electrics patented
Protected LEDs” for extra safety, durability,
and cost savings. Along with Magelis operating terminals
and Tego Dial installation systems, Harmony is one
of the key components of Schneider Electric’s HMI
solutions lineup.
Lexel LexCom
The LexCom cabling system for local area networks (LANs),
based on twisted pair and fiber, will be expanded
with category 6 modular jacks in May 2000, giving
it the very high performance capabilities needed
for voice-data-video applications (link performance
according to class E).
Merlin Gerin Mini Pragma
Our new range of modular enclosures meets all the require-
ments of building construction, renovation and extension.
With its elegant casing and innovative curved door, Merlin Gerin
Mini Pragma can be installed wherever fine design counts,
for instance in homes and small offices. Flush- or bracket-
mounted, with a tinted or see-through door, Merlin Gerin
Mini Pragma is an enclosure that doesn’t need hiding.
Square D Arc-D-TectTM
The first major advance
in home electrical system
protection in more than
30 years, the new Square D
Arc-D-Tect arc fault
circuit interrupter combines
traditional overcurrent
protection with the ability
to detect and interrupt
electrical arcs. Square D
is the first to market
the products, which will be
required by the National
Electrical code beginning
in 2002.
