China
Located in Beijing, T ianjin, Shanghai and
Guangzhou, the seven plants in China are all joint
ventures that manufacture industrial control
components and MV/LV electrical distribution
equipment.
T he T ianjin Merlin Gerin plant employs
600 people and is in charge of the final low voltage
activity, manufacturing miniature NC 100 and
C45 circuit breakers in the Merlin Gerin Multi 9
product range. T he T ianjin Merlin Gerin plant
was the first to receive certification for miniature
circuit breaker production in 1989 from the Chinese
certification organization, CCEE (Chinese
Certification of Electrical Equipment).Tianjin
Merlin Gerin has also been ISO 9002 certified by
Lloyd's Quality Assurance since 1997.
T he final low voltage activity is also present in
Shanghai through Schneider Shanghai Low Voltage
Terminal Apparatus, which specializes in the manu-
facture of miniature earth-leakage protection
circuit breakers. In 2000, a new 7,500 m2site will
handle the production of a new range of miniature
circuit-breakers in T ianjin.
