We also acknowledge the importance of pursuing innovations tied in with our
business strategies that will contribute to building a sustainable society. In order to
contribute to the resolution of global challenges that we all face, we are committed to
creating products that pose less impact on the environment and addressing global
social issues such as poverty and education through uniquely Sony initiatives.
In Closing
The initiatives I laid out and that are being implemented speedily across the Sony
Group will help us meet—and exceed—the expectations our stakeholders have for
Sony. Rebuilding our electronics business will involve dicult decisions, but we will
neither shy away nor waste time. Sony’s spirit of innovation has enabled us to create
new technology and experiences, and to help create an exciting future for people
everywhere. Everyone at Sony recognizes the importance of this spirit at this critical
point in our history. We stand together in our belief that Sony will change.
