a) Market Information
Our common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HUM. The following table

As of January 31, 2006, there were approximately 5,700 holders of record of our common stock.
Our stockholders’ rights plan expired in accordance with its terms in February 2006.
c) Issuer Purchases of Equity Securities
There were no common shares acquired by the Company in open market transactions in 2005. During 2005,
we acquired 68,296 shares of our common stock in connection with employee stock plans at an aggregate cost of
$2.4 million, or an average of $34.62 per share.
d) Dividends
Since February 1993, we have not declared or paid any cash dividends on our common stock. We do not
presently intend to pay dividends, and we currently plan to retain our earnings for future operations and growth
of our businesses.
