Siemens Building Technologies (SBT)
SBT increased Group pro t in scal 2007 by 59%, to €354 million, demonstrat-
ing increased emphasis on its higher-margin businesses in products and services
and improved execution including more selective order intake in its solutions
business. The Group’s fi re safety and heating, ventilation and air conditioning
businesses made the largest contributions to Group profi t. Earnings margins rose
on a Groupwide basis as well, strengthening Group profi t margin for SBT overall
by well over two percentage points.
Orders of5.350 billion grew modestly, rising 2% compared to scal 2006, in
part due to adverse currency translation effects and slowing construction growth
in the U.S., but also as a result of selective order intake. Revenue rose 6% year-
over-year, to 5.062 billion, with SBT’s largest markets in Europe, the Americas
and Germany all contributing solid increases in external revenue compared to s-
cal 2006. SBT closed among others the acquisition of an Indian system provider in
scal 2007 and the acquisition of Bewator in Sweden in scal 2006, each bringing
the Group new capabilities in building and infrastructure security.
