Our structure
Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. (the ‘Company’)
is the parent company of the Philips Group (‘Philips’
or the ‘Group’). Its shares are listed on the stock
markets of Euronext Amsterdam and the New York
Stock Exchange. The management of the Company
is entrusted to the Board of Management under the
supervision of the Supervisory Board.
Philips’ activities in the field of health and well-being
are organized on a sector basis, with each operating
sector – Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting
– being responsible for the management of its
businesses worldwide.
The Company aims, through the Innovation & Emerging
Businesses sector, to invest in projects that are not
currently part of the operating sectors, but which
will lead to additional organic growth or create value
through future spin-offs.
The Group Management & Services sector provides
the sectors with support through shared service
centers. Furthermore, country management supports
the creation of value, connecting Philips with key
stakeholders, especially our employees, customers,
government and society. This sector also includes
the global service units, pensions and global brand
campaign activities.
At the end of 2008, Philips had approximately 155
production sites in 29 countries, sales and service
outlets in approximately 100 countries, and some
121,000 employees.
