Commercial real estate
The commercial real estate lending portfolio totalled £63.0 billion at 31 December 2012, an £11.8 billion or 16% decrease over the year and £24.4 billion
or 28% decrease in the last two years. The commercial real estate sector comprises exposures to entities involved in the development of, or investment
in, commercial and residential properties (including housebuilders). The analysis of lending utilisations below excludes rate risk management and
contingent obligations.
